Changhua County, Taiwan - November 18, 2014 - Ming Dao Fashions has designed and produced a comfortable and stylish pair of pants to be donated to the children of the Atayal tribe. This donation corresponds to the Christmas In Wulai IV volunteer activity benefitting the indigenous communities of Wulai District in New Taipei City. The pants are made from the quality fabrics of Fabric King, generously donated by the company's owners, Allen Chu and family.
The years of dedicated work of the ATAYAL Organization and other Taiwanese organizations supporting the indigenous tribes of Taiwan has inspired Ming Dao Fashions and Fabric King to help support them. These groups of volunteers have been working closely with the indigenous population for years and hosts a fun and exciting Christmas Party each year with singing, dancing and great fun for all. Every year there are businesses that sponsor the Christmas Gift Drive, and different groups partner with the activity, and this year, students from the Taipei European School (TES) will be participating in the activity.
On Sunday, December 21, 2014, between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, against the backdrop of the Wulai Atayal Museum, the group of dedicated people perform live music, and share Christmas holiday culture. Children can also take their photos with Santa Claus. Visitors not only can enjoy Western-style holiday cheer, but can also explore and learn more about the indigenous Atayal culture in the museum. After the show, the group will follow Santa to the local churches in Wulai District to give gifts of toys and school supplies. For many volunteers, this annual event is a way to make many children smile and feel the holiday spirit. It is a special way to give back to the indigenous communities, which help to give Taiwan a rich historic and cultural diversity.
Ming Dao Fashions is a collaboration between Ming Dao University and Sussman International Co. The organization's mission is to help recent fashion graduates start new clothing design companies that will provide jobs to some of the many unemployed seamstresses in Central Taiwan. These newly-formed clothing companies are mainly women-owned businesses. Five of these new clothing companies will be exhibiting their new brands in America at Chicago's StyleMax trade show, March 2015.
